Do You Ever Think of Me?
April 24, 2026
I didn’t expect to think about the past like this today.
Not in a way that made me question anything…
but in a quiet moment that made me pause.
Do you ever think about the people who once meant everything to you?
Not to reopen anything.
Not to change anything.
Just… in passing.
The way memories tend to show up when you least expect them.
And I had to be honest with myself.
That question isn’t really about them.
It’s about what was shared.
It’s about the version of you that existed in that moment.
The version of you that believed something would last forever…
before you understood what forever actually required.
For a long time,
I think many of us want to know—
Did it mean the same on the other side?
Did it matter as much?
But growth teaches you something different.
You don’t need confirmation anymore.
Because you know what it meant to you.
You know what you gave.
You know what you felt.
And that doesn’t change
based on where life took either of you afterward.
There comes a point where you stop leaving doors open.
Not out of fear…
but out of understanding.
Where you can respect the life someone else has built
without needing to be part of it.
And at the same time…
you start building something for yourself.
Something deeper.
A relationship with yourself
that you may have never had before.
I’ve learned that loving yourself
and being in love with yourself
are two very different things.
And right now…
that’s where my focus is.
So if you ever find yourself thinking about someone from your past…
I hope it’s not with regret.
I hope it’s not with questions.
I hope it’s with peace.
Because that’s what I’m choosing now.
Peace.
